Women’s ministry

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus through out all generations, forever and ever amen.” (Eph. 3:20-21). As I have prayerfully contemplated the direction of Women’s Ministry, this verse has repeatedly been laid on my heart and mind.  Although I know many of us are already active in the work that He has called us in, I have felt that He is calling us to more.  He assures us that He will do IMMEASUREABLY MORE than ALL we ask or imagine.  Over the next year, it would be my prayer that each of you would take this verse to heart, and as we call upon you to step into active roles in His church so that we may become women who are bringing Him glory through our study of His word, serving each other and our congregation through prayer, visitation, help, and joyful communion with each other.  I am excited by the direction I feel He is leading us in and empowering us to be able to accomplish.  I urge you to be in prayer and to open your heart to His direction for your part in a renewing and refreshing of Women’s Ministry in our congregation.  My prayer is that we will involve ALL generations in some capacity whether it be prayer warrior, mentor, group leader, or in employment of your skills and gifts.  Celebrate with us a new growth and give Him all the glory for His power as we take steps in faith to become active in our church, our neighborhood and our community for His Name’s sake. I truly look forward to serving you and working with you in the months to come.

Pastor’s Corner

 Pastor Corner:

God is so good, His Grace on our lives is something we over look so often.  We look right past it and on to our plans and the busy world we live in.  Last year at this time I was recovering from histoplasmois and my hospital stay.  Praise be to God for His Love and grace, read the words from    Psalms 91:1-2 NIV    "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow    of the Almighty.  2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in               whom I trust."

Resting in the arms of the Almighty, knowing I can't add a single day to my life or hair on my head; BUT I can do something with them.  I can make the most of my days and I can color or cut my hair.  I can live everyday knowing that Christ is coming back someday and I have to be ready EVERYDAY...  it's that whole "Live Like Your Were Dying" doing the best you can knowing that you are dwelling in the shelter of the Most High.  NOTHING comes into your life or mine, without the passing by the Almighty's hand.

Finding out that "HE is my refuge and my fortress, MY God, in whom I trust” I can take all my problems, doubts, worries, concerns, and joy's, praises and blessing to the ONE who can do something about them.  I can Trust HIM, I can Trust the outcome, I can Trust  that He knows what’s best for me, ALL the time in every predicament.

Welcome to the WFMC family, our new members:

Mary Andres, Bob Deam, Joan Deam, Sara McNeeley, Barb OBrien,

Pat Reynolds, Eloise Rydecki, Char Torres and Steve Torres

"Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do          not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others."         Rom 12:4-5 NIV

From Pastor Matt

Summer is here and that means school is out and it is time to have fun. This summer the Middle Schooler’s are having fun on Wednesdays nights with the theme of Spiritual Warfare. So it is time to dig in and prepare for a battle that I know we are going to win. Also on every other Wednesday we are having a beach teach for the Middle and High School kids down at Forest Beach Park in Watervliet. This is a great time for both groups to get together and hang out and we will also have a devotion time. The summer’s theme for this event is Don’t Check out Your Brain at the Door. These devotions make you think about who God is and how He can change your life.

We are having some big events this summer too. July 24th at 4 pm. we will have our big Summer Bash party. There will be food, music, pool, and God. What more would you want for a good party. In August we will be going to the World Pulse Fest on the 13th.

This free all day concert will have many Christian bands for them to enjoy. Bands like Newsboys, Third Day, Jars of Clay, Group One Crew, Dara MacLean, Hyland, and Lindsay McCaul. Did I mention that this hug concert is free; I hope to see you during the summer for all the fun we are going to have in Our Lord God’s Name.

Baseball Game

Our annual Young versus Mature Softball Game is scheduled for July 31st this year.  This should give everyone opportunities to practice before the actual game day.  We will again be playing at Hayes Park at 6:00 p.m..  Everyone is invited to attend and either play ball,  cheer on the players, or help at the concession stand.  Practice sessions will be set up for those needing them as the date gets closer. This is a great event to invite friends and neighbors to come and have fun and experience what a church family is all about.

Canoe Trip

We will be canoeing down the Paw Paw River on Sunday, August 14th  at 5:00. Cost per canoe is $20.00.  Plan to meet at Ma & Pa’s at 4:45 for the ride to the drop off site.  We will be having our annual baptism on the shore following at 7:00  If you wish to be baptized at this event please see Pastor Brian.  Not interested in canoeing- just come and support those being baptized. A bonfire will conclude our evening together  so come and spend some time in the great outdoors.

VBS

Calling all creatures of His kingdom!!! It’s time for vacation bible school once again and this year, we are going to learn just what it means to have a God who is wild about us as we celebrate our theme “PandaMania”

You will not want to miss this opportunity to join in exciting adventures with Boomer the panda and all of his friends.  Get ready for wild times like: Tree-top treats, Crazy crafts, and Bamboo blast games.  But most of all , get ready to learn how much fun it is to GO WILD FOR GOD!

We are in need of all sorts of help to make this a great time, so if you can offer your time, talents or donations in anyway, please contact Mandi Baham (269)449-1568 or sign up on the bulletin board at church. Vacation Bible School will be held August 8-12 at the church from 6-8 pm

FACEBOOK:

Do you have a Facebook account?  We at WFMC has an account, and we would like to be your friend on Facebook.  It is a great way for us at WFMC to get information out to you quickly, like meeting times, CLC cancelations, thoughts from God's Word, memory verses  and Prayer requests.  Also did you know that you can listen to the morning worship and sermon on Facebook?   Pastor Matt has been uploading Sunday morning worship and sermon of those who are unable to be with us on Sunday morning.   Invite a friend to join us at WFMC...
